NJPEC Celebrates Its 44th Annual Package of the Year Awards


The New Jersey Packaging Executives Club honored 2024’s best product launches at their annual Package of the Year Dinner & Awards Ceremony. This year marked the 44th anniversary of the event, held at The Madison Hotel in Morristown, New Jersey. 
 
The top honor of Package of the Year went to the MAC Pride 40th Anniversary Eyeshadow Palette, produced for MAC by MG New York. 
 
The Students’ Choice Award went to the ‘Trinny Starter Sets – The Game Changers’, produced for Trinny London by HCP Packaging. 
 
The event celebrated packaging standouts from skincare, cosmetics, fragrance, food and beverage as well as household and pharmaceuticals. Industry peers and package engineering students from Rutgers University evaluated and selected from over 100 submissions. 
 
Three students were awarded scholarships. Ulta Beauty and Unimac Packaging awarded a dual Diamond sponsorship of $5,000 to Grace Devakos, a Packaging Engineer student at Rutgers University. 
 

Wexler Packaging Products awarded two $3,000 scholarships to Rutgers Packaging Engineering students Michelle Forbes & Eileen Nguyen. 
 
Brad-Pak Enterprise awarded its Vincet T. Brady scholarship of $3,000 to Ella Berecz, a Packaging Engineering student at Michigan State University. 
 
NJPEC also awarded the 2024 Dr. Frederick Rimmele Memorial Scholarship of $2,500 to NJPEC family member student, Jackson Funk.
 
Overall, in 2024, the NJPEC provided over $56,500 to students from Rutgers University, Clemson University, Michigan State University, Rochester Institute of Technology, and University of Wisconsin-Stout, bringing the total since the club’s inception to over $800,000.
