Aquaculture is often presented as a viable alternative to wild fish capture (1). However, current aquaculture practices threaten wild fish populations, marine ecosystems, and the environment. Replacing the fish meal and fish oil used in most aquaculture facilities with feed made from insects would substantially improve the sustainability of farmed fish.
